The Other Good Product...

... I have bought in, like, forever, is a Netbook.
We have a laptop, but I never use it. Maybe it is because my wife has it too much. However, I think t is bcause it is just too heavy. It's heavy sitting on top of me on the couch. Heavy if I have to relocate mid-sentence.

The netbook is convenient like reading a paper back. Comfortable in my lap. Portable beyond the laziest man criteria :)

I love my netbook.

What size screen do you have? My worries are that I find my 13.3 inch screen is too shallow.

But the portability looks interesting.

I got the Toshiba NB305. It's like 10.1"

I'm not going to tell you that the screen real estate is fabulous. I am only saying that it was a trade off of features compared to a big hefty laptop, and that, having made the trade it was worth it for my particular life constraints.

If I had deep pockets, a wider, ultra-thin laptop might have worked better.

Also, I am considering combining the NB with a low end projector for the next time I have the political leverage to spend. I can project beside our TV and work while others watch TV.

Netbook: Asus Aspire One
Verdict: 9.5/10 (very high praise from me)

Love it. Wish I had a bit bigger screen and a bit bigger keyboard, but not full-laptop size bigger.

Get yourself an LCD screen that you can plug into (suggest Samsung). That'll give you a nice screen size to work on. Cheaper than a projector, not as distracting for others.
