The next time you are losing one of your big European free-for-alls, do me a favor and handle it your selves. My Grandfather went over for you in the last. Great Grandfather in the one before that.
Now, I'm sure you are right: with your fancy EEC and Euro, it could never ever happen again. I mean, what could pull Europe apart (cough...Greek debt...cough) or be boorish enough to attack it from without(cough...Russia...cough).
However, if the unthinkable does happen, and my son and I don't answer your call: don't go away mad... just go away.

It's the Daily Mail.... not surprising.
Plus, my understanding is the British media is savaging us and our games so that they have a track record to refer to when they kick their own London games in the bollocks hard.
We're sort of collateral damage to give them plausible deniability (historical track record) for abusing the crap out of their own games.
I have criticisms of the Luge track design and the stupidity of it. On the other hand, the Canadian and International Federations for the sport were on side that it was okay and they are supposed to be the experts. They undoubtedly advised VANOC/IOC that things were done in accordance with their standards.
So yea, England, stick a crumpet in it!
