I just cannot say enough good things about WHS...
Here are the things it has helped me do since I bought it:
(1) Centralized all permanent storage of things like music and pictures.
(2) Liberted my computer fromannoying interference.
(3) Gave me the ability to remote data I want, to whom I want, when I want.
(4) Made it easy to back up our other computers and central data.
It has a bunch of other features I probably don't take advantage of, and plug in options, too.
Anyhow, it is probably one of the few genuinely useful product offerings I have encountered in 5 years.

Please explain further point #2.
Does it act as some sort of media server for you?
Have you connected it to stereo or HD TV in any way?
What sort of computer did you have to buy to house it, or did you use an old one you had sitting around?
I am very interested in this rarely mentioned, but usually favourably so, product.
Point 2: Because my computer is invaiably the most powerful, it becomes a magnet for storing family stuff... and that gets in the way of my enjoyment of it: cannot use it when I like, upgrade itwhen I like, take it apart when I like. A file server ended that.
Yes, it mediaserves: Pictures to the TV via the XBOX360; musicvia soundbridge... those are our specifics, but other deployments are possible.
Used my newly retired computer... spent $100ish to add one 1Tb drive.
